Rajendra relies on medication due to a kidney condition and has to travel to Kathmandu every month for a check-up.
Rajendra runs a small shop, whilst his mother contributes to the family income by tending the vegetable garden and looking after goats, chickens and buffaloes. She also grows rice on a leased plot of land, which covers the family’s needs for a whole year.
The family is largely self-sufficient, but the costs of medication and travel exceed their budget. Their daughter attends Shree Patal Devi School – books, school uniforms and other expenses amount to around 15,000 NPR per year.
The family receives support to cover the costs of medication, travel and school fees.
